Villaraigosa Home Demo Wrap Up!
Activists gathered in the Mount Washington vicinity to protest in Mayor Antonio
Villaraigosa's neighborhood in response to his blatant refusal to honor his
campaign
promise to fire guerdon H. Stuckey, General Manager of Los Angeles Animal
Services
(LAAS) which runs the six city animal Death Camps.
With bullhorns in tow, protesters queued up on the sidewalk and began marching.
Chants both familiar and new split the pastoral Saturday afternoon tranquility
as
demonstrators filed past the homes of surprised (and some angry) residents.
"Hey, Antonio, what do you say? How many animals did you kill today?" the
activists
inquired. They also let the neighbors know, "While Antonio's dogs are safe and
sound, he allows a holocaust in the pound!"

Amplified sound conveyed the message that over 50,000 healthy, treatable, and
lovable dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, bunnies and even wildlife are slaughtered
every year in the six city shelters because of the inept, corrupt, and archaic
policies of the LAAS. The Death Camps are presided over by the inexperienced,
obstructionist--and just plain uncaring--Guerdon Stuckey, who siphons off a
six-figure income from taxpayer dollars only to do absolutely nothing to adopt
out
the animals in his charge. In fact, his staff actually discourages and dissuades
prospective adopters! (That rendering company must be paying the big bucks, eh,
Guerdy?)
While the natives in Tony's Barrio weren't as restless as those of Hahn's Hood,
we
definitely got some inklings into their basic selfish natures. One moaned to
LA's
finest that he was trying to take a nap. Another whined that she couldn't hear
her
radio.

Now, folks, ADLLA strives to be fair-minded. We have taken the good citizens'
complaints under advisement, and--after long and painstaking deliberation--have
arrived at the conclusion that while we recognize the paramount importance of
afternoon siestas (try to imbibe one or two fewer on Friday nights) and favorite
radio programs, 50,000 lives come out weighing a little heavier in the balance!
One mother held on very protectively to her daughter and admonished her, "See
those people? They're bad! Don't grow up to do what they do. It's wrong!" An
activist who overheard her demanded incredulously, "We're 'bad' for standing up
for defenseless animals? We're 'wrong' for exercising our Constitutional right
to protest?" The neighbor scurried back into the nether realms of personal
ignorance and cultural brainwashing from which she had only briefly emerged.
Meanwhile, back on the front lines, the aforementioned LA's finest were busy
haranguing us about out use of amplified sound. One officer lamented, "You can
be
heard all over the neighborhood!" Now, pardon our glaring cognitive deficit
here,
but--ISN'T THAT PRECISELY THE POINT?

"Turn down the volume!" the officers counseled. "Turn down the slaughter!" one
activist retorted. She went on to offer the neighbors two choices: "For those of
you
who are so much more discomfited by an hour's noise than by the massacre of
50,000
animals a year in our six city shelters, you can take one of two courses...Knock
on
Antonio Villaraigosa's door and tell him to fulfill his campaign promise to fire
Guerdon Stuckey--or invest in a good pair of ear plugs! We hear Target is having
a
sale on them as we speak!
Oh, for you Mount Washingtonites, that's probably pronounced "Tar-jay." Our
apologies. No offense intended.

The activists left, letting Antonio and the neighbors know that we were all
destined
to become "intimate companions," because ADLLA will be back--again and
again--until
Villaraigosa honors the promise he made that if he became mayor of Los Angeles,
Guerdon Stuckey would no longer be General Manager of LAAS!
WE WILL NEVER BACK DOWN UNTIL YOU STOP THE KILLING!!!
